Funeral services were held for Helen M. Buresh, 70, of Oxford Junction on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Hayden's Funeral Home. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery. The clergyman was the Rev. L. Jack Eilers of Durant. Donna Slouha played an organ number.
Pallbearers were Fred Buresh, Frank Hudrlik, Fred Lasack, James Benhart, Andy Becker and Otto Koranda.
Miss Buresh died July 8 at Mercy Hospital, Benton Harbor, Michigan. She had been vacationing in the area.
She was born on December 20, 1907 in Oxford Junction, the daughter of John and Anna Benhart Buresh.
A graduate of Oxford Junction High School and the University of Iowa, she taught school for 40 years. She taught in Erie and Rock Falls, Illinois and before her retirement in 1971, in East Moline, Illinois.
She taught music and biology. Since her retirement she taught piano and also continued her interest in school activities and students.
She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society.
Survivors are two sisters, Millie Buresh of Oxford Junction and Tillie Buresh of Cedar Rapids and two nieces, Mrs. Duane (Joetta) Parker of Ankeny and Louanne Mizaur of Oxford Junction.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and one sister.
