CENTER JUNCTION - Funeral services for Harry Cluse James, 76, were held Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the Center Junction Presbyterian church. Interment was in North Madison Pioneer cemetery. The Rev. Del Meester officiated.
James died Sunday, Aug. 15, at John McDonald hospital, Monticello. He was born at Viola, June 18, 1895, the son of Ernest and Anna Cluse James. After graduation from Anamosa high school and mechanics school he was employed for four years in a garage in Wyoming.
He was married to Sadie Reitz Jan. 17, 1917 at Wyoming. In 1920 the couple moved to a farm southeast of Center Junction. They farmed for 51 years. He was a member of the Center Junction Presbyterian church, a 50 year member of Keystone 206 Masonic Lodge at Wyoming, and a member of the Center Junction school board of directors for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sadie; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth James, Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Mrs. Grace West, Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Casketbearers were Elmer Nissen, Marvin Blohm, Gail Catlett, Gary Catlett and Leonard Serbousek.
