Harold D. HIATT Taken In Death

Harold D. HIATT, 404 W. Briggs street, long-time resident of the Fairfield community, passed away at 1 p.m. today at the Jefferson County hospital.

He was taken to the hospital Sunday after he had suffered a stroke.

The body is at the Raymond Funeral home where last rites are pending.

HIATT Funeral Will Be Monday

Harold Dawson HIATT, 77, well-known Fairfield resident who died about 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Jefferson county hospital.

The services will be held at the Raymond funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Donald Eagle in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

HIATT was taken to the hospital last Sunday after he had suffered a stroke at his home, 404 W. Briggs. He had been in failing health the past six months.

Harold Dawson HIATT was born Dec. 17, 1881, in Lee county, Iowa, the son of Alvin and Catherine DAWSON HIATT. He was married to Lulu CHATTERTON on June 14, 1905, at her home in Fairfield where they lived for 15 years.

They moved to a farm southwest of Fairfield for a number of years then returned to the city again in 1948.

HIATT was a member of the First Christian church where he was Elder Emeritus.

He is survived by his wife and one son, Lester HIATT, Edcouch, Tex.; two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Blanche JOHNSON, Fairfield, and Mrs. Mabel COLLINS, McAllister, Okla. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
