Deaths Of Sisters Three Days Apart

FAIRFIELD. -- Mrs. Flora HIATT, 77, a lifetime resident of Jefferson county, died Sunday at 2:50 p.m. in the Jefferson County hospital where she had been for three weeks. She had been in ill health for two years.

Her death followed by less than three days that of her sister, Miss Mildred CHATTERTON, 79, who died early Friday in the home of their sister Mrs. Harold D. HIATT, 404 West Briggs street. Her funeral was this afternoon at the Hoskins funeral home.

Funeral rites for Mrs. HIATT will also be held at the Hoskins funeral home, Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. S. P. Williamson of the First Christian church will also conduct it.

Mrs. HIATT was born April 2, 1878, on a farm northeast of Fairfield, the daughter of Alvin and Louisa SHERMAN CHATTERTON. She was married to O. L. HIATT September 15, 1900. Surviving are one son, Alvin HIATT, and two daughters, Mrs. Carl SCHIEDEL and Mrs. Robert FISCHER, all of the Fairfield Community. There are seven grandchildren, two great-grandsons and a sister Mrs. H. D. HIATT of Fairfield.
