E. J. HEWETT PASSED AWAY
Funeral Services Tomorrow Afternon at 2 From the Late Residence

Edwin J. HEWETT, son of the deceased, Gilbert W. and Rocena HEWETT (sic - HEWITT), passed away at the family residence, yesterday morning, about 10:30.

Mr. HEWETT was born at Minerva Essex county, New York. The family moved to Neponset, Ill., in 1856, remaining there one year. They re-moved to Jefferson county, Iowa, where the rest of his life has been spent. He was united in marriage March 31, 1886, to Anna J. GANTZ, daughter of the deceased Levi and Sarah GANTZ, who were also early pioneers. Mr. and Mrs. HEWETT took up their residence at the old homestead five miles north of this city, where they remained until their removal to 302 West Washington street, in 1912. His wife preceded him in death, passing away Dec. 11, 1919.

He is survived by two children, Capt. J. E. HEWETTT (sic), Morgan Park Military Academy, Chicago, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. A. E. FAULKNER of this city; one grandchild, Lucille Arlene HEWETT; one brother, W. N. HEWETT, Beaver City, Neb.; one sister, Mrs. S. K. DAVIS of Libertyville, Ia.

Funeral services will be held from the late residence, 302 West Washington street, Tuesday afternoon at 2 oclock, in charge of Dr. U. S. Smith. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.

LAST RITES FOR E. J. HEWETT
Many Friends Paid Their Respects at the Funeral Yesterday From the Home

Many relatives and friend paid tribute to the memory of Edwin J. HEWETT, who died Sunday morning, at the funeral services held yesterday afternoon at 2 oclock from the family residence, 302 West Washington street. Dr. U. S., Smith of the Methodist church officiated.

Mrs. Frank Pierson sang the songs, "Face to Face", "Crossing the Bar" and "No Burdens Yonder" and she was accompanied on the piano by Miss Pauline White. The casket attendants were: J. T. Rodgers, David Hedge, Frank Moyer, David Johnson, Dan Kelley and William Spencer. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery.
