several hotels were built in Colfax for people coming to enjoy the health benefits of the mineral springs. My great grandparents, the Grahams, ran the Mason House hotel for a time. That hotel catered more to the railroad workers and common people than the fancier hotels. But my great grandmother was known for her cooking.
