Linda Elaine Osborn Ramzy, 76, peacefully passed away from pancreatic cancer Saturday, August 17, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa.
Linda was born August 13, 1948 to Lettie and Orval Osborn in Colfax, Iowa.
She graduated from Maxwell High School in 1966. She attended Upper Iowa University. Linda was employed for many years at Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, Iowa and retired in 2015.
She raised her family in Maxwell, Iowa where she lived for many years. In 1997, she married Austin Ramzy, and moved to Clive Iowa.
She was an active member of Grace West church in West Des Moines, a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Maxwell Unit 0249, and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was dedicated to her Christian faith, her family, and her country. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Linda enjoyed solving puzzles, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved animals and supported many charitable foundations.
She is survived by her husband, Austin Ramzy; her daughter, Darcy (John) Powers; a step-son, Austin Ramzy III (Angie Baecker); a step-daughter, Anne Ramzy (Travis Decker); four grandchildren, Emma and James Powers of Wilmette, Illinois, Alma Ramzy of Hong Kong, PRC, and Malcolm Wildash of Sandy, Oregon.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Carrie Anne Carlstrom.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA. The memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 22 at Grace West Church, 6820 Ashworth Road also in West Des Moines.
