Jeremiah M. Callaghan, 73, was born September 23, 1869 at St. Louis, Mo., son of Michael and Ellen Callaghan and passed away Sunday, April 21 at 6 o'clock a.m. after a lingering illness.

On November 16, 1892, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Gavin, since which time they have followed the occupation of farming at Garryowen.

Surviving are his widow, one son, Eugene of Dubuque, Mrs. Henry Hughes (Marcella) and Mrs. Herman Morrison (Alice) both of Cascade; one brother, Patrick of Bernard; and one sister, Mrs. James Dolphin, Cascade.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10:00 from St. Patrick's church, Garryowen, with the Rev. Fr. P. F. Malone celebrating the Requiem Mass.

Pallbearers were: Leo Skahill, John Hosch, Dennis Delay, Fred Loes, John Hughes, Wm. Stanton, Jr., Wm. Heideman and Joe Morrison.

Those attending from a distance were Mrs. Irvin Gavin and son, Anamosa; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Crowley and Miles Leonard of Ryan.

The surviving family are assured of the heartfelt sympathy of the community in the passing of husband and father.
