Anna Karine Hiaring.
Anna Karine Hiaring, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Hiaring, was born in Grinnell, Iowa, August 29, 1879, and was baptized September 3rd of that year. She removed to Boone county with her parents in 1880, and three years later to Hamilton county where has since been her home, with the exception of four years, from 1882 to 1896, when the family resided at Vincent, in Webster county.
In October, 1891, Miss Hiaring was confirmed in the Lutheran church. She attended Jewell Lutheran college, graduating in 1903, and for several years taught in Hamilton county schools. On January 31, 1906, she left for Morris, Minn., to accept a position teaching in the government Indian school at that place, returning home last December.
Her last sickness came upon her about four weeks ago, and after suffering intensely, she breathed her last at 4:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, March 24, 1907, and on that peaceful Sabbath day her spirit winged its way to its everlasting rest. She died at the age of 27 years, 6 months and 26 days. There remains to mourn the loss of a kind daughter and loving sister so early taken from them, a father and mother, two sisters and three brothers. The sisters are Mrs. Belle Christensen and Mrs. Clara Groves and the brothers, Andrew, Phillip and Albert. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, March 26, from home of her parents and from the Lutherzn church, and the remains laid to rest in the Jeweall cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. J. Eastvold, assisted by Rev. J. J. Williams, pastor of the deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Hiaring and family have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement.
