Girl Killed at Ellsworth

Late last night Bertha Sheldahl was struck by through freight No. 121 running through Ellsworth without stopping and was instantly killed. The accident occurred at about nine o'clock p. m. at the first crossing west of the depot at Ellsworth, it being supposed that the girl was crossing the track when she was struck by the engine. The body was carried or thrown some distance down the track, was badly bruised and both arms broken, but was not mangles. The trainmen stopped, city officials were notified and Dr. Slater called. An inquest will be held this afternoon probably. The girl's parents live five or six miles east of Ellsworth, but she has been for some time residing in Ellsworth.
