Funeral Services for Hamilton County Farmer were Held Last Friday.

Iver L. Berven, 58, a widely known farmer living 5 1/2 miles northeast of Stanhope, died at his home early Wednesday morning, death being caused by inflammation of the brain.

He had been seriously ill the past four weeks, but had been in failing health for several months. He received treatment at Rochester in February.

Funeral Friday

Funeral services were held at the Jewell Lutheran church on Friday afternoon, preceded by a brief service at the home. Rev. Carl Opsahl officiated, and burial was made in Graceland cemetery.

Mr. Berven was one of Hamilton county's most prominent farmers. He had lived on his home place since 1908, and had attained the reputation of being one of the best swine producers in the county. He was always keenly interested in this branch of farming and was successful in it.

For many years he was a director of the Farm Bureau of the county and the last few years he had been treasurer of the board. He was also chairman of the AAA committee of Hamilton county.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was a member of the Jewell church. He was faithful in his attendance as long as his health permitted, and was also interested in community activities.
