GEORGE NELSON DIED IN JEWELL

George Nelson was the son of Nels and Guro Nelson. He was born in Bergen, Norway, June 24, 1867, and died at Jewell, Dec. 16, 1940, at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 22 days. He lived in Norway until in the year 1882 when he came to America, first locating in Story county, Iowa, then moved to Jewell. He farmed near there, and left about 33 years ago for Sioux City.

For the past nine years he lived with a sister at Monterey, Minn., and came to Jewell last August, making his home with his sister, Mrs. C. A. Johnson, since that time and where he died.

Mr. Nelson was never married. He was one of a family of 12 children: 3 sisters and 4 brothers surviving him. They are Mrs. Mary Dahl and Mrs. Hulda Nelson of Sioux City, Lewis Nelson of Denver, Col., Nick Nelson of Minneapolis, Anfin Nelson of Story City, Mrs. C. A. Johnson of Jewell, Chas. Nelson of Hudon, S. D.
