Sarah Johnson, Jewell, died
Sarah G. Johnson, 81, Jewell, died yesterday at 11:40 a.m. at the Jewell Rest Home, where she had lived several days. She had been in ill health about six weeks.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. from the Bethesda Lutheran Church, Jewell. The Rev. Marlin Ingebritson will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Jewell. The body will lie in state at the Becker Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Monday when it will be taken to the church.
Born in Fjeldberg, Norway, she came to the U.S. at the age of three and lived in Jewell from that time. She was married to Cyrus Adelbert Johnson in Dec. 19, 1900. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church and the Rural Mail Carriers Auxiliary.
Surviving are six sons, York of Stanhope, Richard of Marseilles, Ill., Adelbert of Ellsworth, Sterling of Garner, Arthur of Glendale, Mo. and Clinton of Monterey Park, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Joyce Allie of Des Moines, Mrs. Frances Romp of Story City, Mrs. Sylvia Gabrielson of Randall and Mrs. Marie Vary of Sterling, Ill.; 36 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
