MORGAN HILL, STANHOPE FARMER DIED NOV. 21
Morgan A. Hill, 65, a long time resident of Stanhope a widely known farmer in that community, died at his home 2 1/2 miles southeast of Stanhope, Thursday afternoon.
Death was caused by complications which developed recently from arthritis. He had been seriously ill two months, but had suffered from arthritis for 14 years.
Funeral services were held Sunday, 1:30 at the home, and 2 o'clock in Our Savior's Lutheran church, with Rev. Monson officiating. Rev. H. O. Oppedal of Story City also spoke a few words. A solo by Clifton Madson was sung in the home. At the church music was furnished by a mixed quartet, who sang "Jeg ved mig en sovn i Jesu Navn." Clifton Madson also sang at the church. Many floral gifts and money gifts to the mission were given in his memory. Burial was made in Lawn Hill cemetery.
Morgan Andrew Hill was born Oct. 19, 1875, in LaSalle county, Illinois. His parents were Andrew and Anna Hill. They moved to Iowa in 1895, locating six miles west of Story City. He was married Feb. 20, 1902 to Anna Satre at Stanhope, and they farmed, buying their home place in 1910.
He leaves his wife, three daughters and a son: Olive, the wife of Gerhardt Fardal, Stanhope; Gladys, wife of Dr. L. E. Pearson, Sioux City; Anna Mae, at home, and Idress M., living near Stanhope.
There are seven grandchildren, two brothers and four sister: Albert and Jesse of Ellsworth, Mrs. Joe Dahl of Radcliffe, Mrs. Fred Peterson and Mrs. N. P. Larson of Story City, and Mrs. Oscar Thompson of Belmond.
