MRS. A. ANFINSON DIED IN MINN.
Funeral services for Mrs. Austin Anfinson, who passed away Wednesday, June 12, at the age of 62 years, were conducted by Rev. Gilbert Oppen at the Zion Lutheran church at Lake Crystal, Minn., after a short service at the home. At the home Mrs. Gilbert Oppen and Mrs. N. D. Holden sang, "Just As I Am," and at the church Rev. Oppen sang a favorite hymn of the deceased, "Behold the Host Arrayed in White," in the Norwegian language.
Interment was made in the Lake View cemetery, with Melbourne Henderson, Curtis Henderson, Vernon Anfinson, Earl Anfinson, and Oliver and Anfin Sorenson acting as pallbearers.
Gunhild Holland, eldest daughter of Paul and Martha Holland, was born August 10, 1877, near Story City, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood.
On January 23rd, 1907, she was united in marriage to Austin Anfinson at the North St. Petri church near Story City, where she was also baptized and confirmed. To this union five children were born. The family made their home in Milo, N. D., until the fall of 1914, when they moved to Minnesota where they have since resided.
Mrs. Anfinson was a devoted wife and mother, whose life was full of sacrifice and deeds of kindness. She was a faithful member of the Zion Lutheran church and Ladies Aid, and no offering was ever too large for God's Kingdom.
On Wednesday, June 12, at three o'clock in the afternoon at the Immanuel hospital in Mankato, Minn., she passed peacefully into the heavenly home for which she she had expressed a longing during her three weeks' illness. She had attained the age of 62 years, 10 months and two days.
She is survived by her husband and five children: Arnie, Palmer, Maynard and Berniece at home, and Mrs. Lyle Purvis at Vernon Center; and one grandson, little David Paul Anfinson. She is also survived by four brothers and one sister: John Holland of Leonard, N. D., Ole Holand of Dilke, Sask., Canada, Martin Holland and Mrs. Harry K. Henderson of Story City.
Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry K. Henderson and Genevieve, Mr. and Mrs. Melbourne Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Holland and Carol, and Martin Edwenson, all of Story City; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Holland, Curtis Henderson and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Tjelmeland of Leonard, N. D.; Tom Anfinson of Ellsworth; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Anfinson of Minneapolis; Oliver Sorenson and Mr. and Mrs. Anfin Sorenson and Phyllis of Rochester, Minn.; Mrs. Martin Sorenson of Spring Valley, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Dwite Reidall and Agnes, and Lula Ankeny of Winnebago.
Mr. and Mrs. Ole Carlson of Worthington, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Norvel Carlson of Jackson, Minn., who were unable to attend the funeral on Saturday, came Friday evening to express their sympathy to the family and pay their last tribute to the deceased.
