Nora B. Songer, 79, of 126 Second St., a former longtime Chicago resident, died Saturday morning at the Hamilton county hospital where she had been a patient the past week.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home with Tom Waters officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Nora B. Songer, daughter of Jessee Edward and Gertrude Cook Songer, was born Feb. 24, 1900 at Webster City. She was reared and educated here. She took nurse's training at Chicago and worked as a registered nurse in the Chicago area until her retirement in 1965. She continued to live in Chicago until moving to Webster City to make her home with a sister, Mrs. Helen Brummett.

She is survived by two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Clara Zinke, Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Helen Brummett, Webster City, Harold Songer of Burlingame, Calif., and Wilbur Songer of Tucson, Ariz., and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

She was baptized in the Christian faith.
