Orville Headley
Orville "Pink" Headley, 77, a life-long Jewell area resident, died Thursday evening, Feb. 28, 1991, at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services were held Monday, March 4, at 1:30 p.m. at the Federated United Church of Christ in Jewell with Rev. Dean Stile officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Orville Russell Headey, son of Emory and Anna (Barkema) Headley was born Aug. 25, 1913, in Jewell. He was educated in rural schools north of Jewell. He married Jennie Olson on March 26, 1938, in Randall. The couple farmed north of Jewell for many years and moved into Jewell in 1958. Mr. Headley was employed by Piel Manufacturing in Hubbard, the Ellsworth Turkey Plant and Ralph Draper. He retired in 1982. He had been a resident of Southfield Care Center in Webster City since Jan. 14, 1990.
Mr. Headley was a member of the Federated United Church of Christ in Jewell.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie, Jewell; a daughter, Pat Herbert and her fiance, Jim Bergeson, both of Webster City, two grandsons, Lee Herbert, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Les Herbert, Stanhope; and Jeremy Herbert, Stanhope; three sisters, Marie Nail, Webster City; Emma Knickerbocker, Jewell; and Lucille Pallem, Fargo, North Dakota; and a brother, Ken Headley, Kansas City, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Howard Headley.
