ROLAND

Mrs. Kari Iverson (Helvig) was born at Helvig in Kvind Herred, Norway, June 24, 1825, and died at her home east of Roland, after a lingering illness August 23, 1902, being 77 years of age. She was married in Norway to Iver Iverson (Helvig), came to this country in 1861 and located in Clinton but moved to Story county in 1866 and located on the Iverson homestead east of town where she lived till her death. She was the mother of 8 children, 4 of which died during their infancy. The four living are I. A. and Oliver Iverson and Mrs. Ole Hegland and Mrs. Tom Sandvold, all of whom live close together east of town. She was buried from Bergen's church Monday, August 25. She leaves 4 children, 9 grandchildren and one grandchild....
