MRS. EDWIN OLSON DIED LAST FRIDAY

Funeral of Well Known and Esteemed Lady Was Held on Monday Afternoon in the Immanuel Church

The community was surprised, as well as grieved, to learn Friday that Mrs. Edwin Olson had passed away that morning.

She had an operation for appendicitis a couple weeks ago, but was thought to be out of danger, until the unexpected attack a short time before she died.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, with Rev. Heimarck officiating, and assisted by the Revs. Oppedal and Paulsrud.

Two songs were sung by the congregation: "I am but a stranger here" and "Happy day when we shall stand." Two solos were also sung, one by Miss Thelma Hagen, "Den store hvide flok," and one by Mrs. Irving Knutson, "One Sweetly Solemn Thought."

The pallbearers were the six sons of the deceased.

Rev. Heimarck spoke from the 8th verse of the 4th Psalm; Rev. Oppedal, her former pastor, spoke on what her life had meant for the St. Paul community, and Rev. Paulsrud spoke on what a mother means to the home and how she can be honored though not here.

The large audience which almost completely filled the church, gore eloquent testimony of the hold that Mrs. Olson had on her wide circle of friends and neighbors, all of whom had come to bear a loving tribute to her in these last solen rites.

At the conclusion of the service in the church Rev. Heimarck announced the following cash gifts to various institutions in Mrs. Olson's memory. From Edwin Olson and children $90; from two great grandchildren $2; from Immanuel ladies aid society $5; from friends and neighbors 113; to the Jewish mission $5; to the Sudan mission $3; to Ebenezer old people's home $5.

Interment was made in the St. Paul's cemetery.
