OBITUARY

MARTIN A. OLSON

Martin A. Olson died suddenly at his home in Randall, Ia., Tuesday morning, March 15, death being due to heart failure.

He had been in ill health for about six months but was able to be up and around all the time. He was outdoors at home when he was stricken and death came to him apparently almost instantly.

Martin Andreas Olson was the son of Ole and Anna Osmundson. He was born November 26, 1883, at Watneim, Norway, and died at Randall, Iowa, March 15, 1938, at the age of 54 years, 3 months and 19 days. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith in Norway December 7, 1883, and was confirmed in Norway, January 22, 1899.

He was married to Kristianna Halvorson at Haugesund, Norway, February 16, 1907, and in May, 1910, they came to the United States. They lived a short time at Norway, Iowa, and have resided n the Randall community ever since.

Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Olson, all surviving. They are: Magnus Olson of Story City; Hildah Sundal, of Fort Des Moines; and Martin R., Elvina, Herman, Jennie, Merlin, Bertha and Jeanette Olson, all of Randall. His wife also survives him, and also four grandchildren and many other relatives.

Mr. Olson was a member of Elim Lutheran church at Randall the past 15 years.

Funeral services were held at Elim church, Randall, Friday, March 18, 1938, with Rev. G. O. Paulsrud officiating. $20 was given to missions in his memory. Interment was made at the Mt. Olive cemetery.
