Ole Frette Died Dec. 29

Ole Frette, son of Peter and Anna (nee Rasmussen) Frette, was born at Etne, Norway, February 6, 1869.

When he was only 17 months of age, the family migrated to America and settled on a farm in Boone county, Iowa, later moving to a farm near Stanhope. Here he grew to manhood.

On March 29, 1893, he was married to Miss Christina Anderson of Rose Grove township. To this union seven children were born. Four of the children preceded their father in death: Percy, Elmer, Arthur and Charles. The remaining children are: Mrs. Agnes Alvestad and Elmer Frette of Jewell, and Mrs. Ethel Olson of Chicago. The mother passed away on the 19th of November, 1911.

On September 10, 1913, Mr. Frette was married to Miss Nettie Hanson of Rose Grove township. To them were born four children: Francis, Opal, Arlene and Helen, all at home at the present time.

Mr. and Mrs. Frette were charter members of Landstad congregation.

In 1920 the family retired from active farming and moved to Story City, returning to the farm again in 1925.

Cancer Caused Death

For the past two years, Mr. Frette has been afflicted with cancer, the ailment gradually becoming more serious and causing his death on December 29, 1937, at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 23 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure besides his wife and children, one grandchild and one great grandchild, Mrs. Clara Berry of Jewell and daughter, Diane. He also leaves three brother and four sisters, Sam of Garden City, Mrs. Martha Haaland [should be Holland], Mrs. Julia Townswick, Mrs. Sarah Quam, and Edward, all of Story City, Rasmus and Mrs. Regina Peterson [should be Pederson] of Randall.

Funeral services were conducted on New Year's eve at the home and at the Rose Grove Lutheran church by the pastor, H. E. Jacobson of Williams. Pastor Hans Oppedal of Stanhope closed the services with prayer.

Music for the funeral was furnished by Orton brothers of the Landstad congregation, who sang "Rock of Ages" at the home, and at the church they sang, "Earnestly, Tenderly, Jesus is Calling." Joseph Anderson and Lawrence Isvik of Rose Grove congregation sang, "Will You be Ready When Jesus Comes?"

The pall bearers were three sons of Sam Frette of Garden City, Cyrus, Amos and Roy, and three sons of Ed Frette of Story City, Otis, Arnold and Luverne. Interment was made in Rose Grove cemetery.
