MILDRED OLIVE THOMPSON

Mildred Olive Thompson was born Nov. 5, 1919. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom G. Thompson, who at one time resided in Hamilton county, Iowa. She was baptized by Rev. H. O. Oppedal at St. Paul Lutheran church, west of Jewell.Mildred came to Freeborn county with her parents when five years of age, locating on a farm near Hatland. At the age of 15 she was educated in the public schools at Freeborn.
She arrived with her parents in Albert Lea in March this year. She was taken ill with intestinal flu about five weeks previous to her passing away, and was a patient of Naeve hospital, where she died on Thursday, Sept. 30.
She is survived by her parents, one sister, Mrs. Raynard Jepsen of this county, and two brothers, Ira of Hartland and Harvey at Clarks Grove.
Funeral services were held at Bonnerup's Funeral Home, 10 a.m., Monday, Oct 4, with Rev. Wulfsberg officiating. In his sermon the pastor brought out the fact that he had called on Mildred during her last illness, that she was a fine Christian girl, and that she had reiterated her faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She partook of the holy communion and was pleased to leave this world behind for the blessing of being with her Lord and Master forevermore.
Her body was taken to Randall, Iowa, for interment. Services were held at the Elim Lutheran church conducted by Rev. H. O. Oppedal. Songs were sung by a quartet composed of Mrs. P. G. Pederson, Mrs. Clarence Larson, J. H. Brekken and S. M. Teigland. Interment was made in Mt. Olive cemetery. The pall-bearers were Berger Epland, Harris Braland, Leonard Jepsen, Raynard Jepsen, Marlin and LeRoy Romp.
Those who attended from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Nels Okland, Mr. and Mrs. Berger Epalnd and Mrs. Lawrence Leonhardt, all from Emmons; John Johnson from Clarks Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Romp and children of Garner; Albert, Helmick and Lena Severson of Eagle Grove.
