MRS. CARRIE PETERSON
Carrie Sandvig was born September 23, 1855, in Stavanger, Norway. Her parents were Christ and Carrie Sandvig.
She passed away at Blue Earth, Minn., Feb. 12, 1937, at the age of 81 1/2 years.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Trinity Lutheran church in Blue Earth, with Rev. O. F. Johnson officiating.
The deceased came to America when 23 years old, making her home in Steward, Ill. Here she was married to Ole Selgelid in Aug. 19, 1879.
To this union five children were born, two of whom have preceded their mother in death. In February, 1888, Mr. Selgelid passed away. She was united in marriage to Christ Peterson December 22, 1894. To this union one son, Clifford, was born. He preceded her in death a year ago. Mr. and Mrs. Peterson moved to Chicago in 1899, then to Palo Alto county, Iowa, in 1901. In 1914 they moved to Blue Earth, in 1920 to Herman and returned to Blue Earth in 1929, where they have lived since.
She is survived by her husband, one son, E. C. Selgelid of Renwick, Ia., two daughters, Mrs. Clara Oakland of Delavan and Mrs. Bertha Evans of Blue Earth; six grandsons, one grand-daughter, one stepdaughter, one stepson and seven grand children. Mrs. Peterson was the last of a family of eleven children.
Among those who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Selgelid of Renwick, Tom Rickelson, Davis Jct., Ill.; Mrs. Ed Evenson of Chicago; Mrs. Andre Anderson of Estherville, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Oakland of Rake; Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Teigland of Elmore, Minn. and Mrs. Clifford Peterson and her mother of Mankato, Minn., and a large number of friends from Delavan.
