OBITUARIES

MRS. LARS L HENDRICKSON

Mrs. Lars L. Hendrickson, a long time resident of Hamilton county, died Tuesday afternoon on February 23 at her home in Stanhope. Death was the result of complications incident to old age. She had been in failing health for the past five years.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Our Saviors church in Stanhope, preceded by a brief service at the home at 10 o'clock.

Rev. Oppedal assisted by Rev. Opsahl of Jewell, officiating. Mrs. Benjamin Anderson and Truman Quam sang two songs. The pall bearers were her six sons, Silas, Dan, Casper, Milton, Marion and Ray Hendrickson. Burial was in the St. Paul's cemetery southwest of Stanhope.

Mr. Hendrickson died Aug. 13, 1924. Surviving their mother are nine children: Mrs. Albert Arends of Blue Earth, Minn., Mrs. Albert Iverson of Stanhope, Ray of Woolstock, Mrs. Richard Anderson of Jewell, and Silas, Daniel, Casper, Milton and Marion of Stanhope.

There are 21 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, four brothers, Elias, Benjamin, Casper and Joe Larson and two sisters, Misses Mattet and Malinda Larson of Ottawa, Ill.

Two children preceded her in death.

Lennia Christina Larson was born in Seneca, Ill., Nov. 26, 1859 and grew into young womanhood there. She was married 56 year ago to Lars Hendrickson and the young couple came to Iowa to live 55 years ago.

They located on their farm southwest of Kamrar, where they lived until 1924. They planned to retire in the fall of 1924, but Mr. Hendrickson's death occurred just before they were ready to move.

Mrs. Hendrickson then moved to Stanhope where she has made her home since. During the first year of her married life she was baptized and confirmed in the Norwegian Lutheran faith and was faithful to her church and all of its organizations as long as her health permitted. Her home and her children were her sole interests and she will be greatly missed not only by her immediate family but by a host of relatives and friends.
