RAYMOND HANSON [sic]
Raymond LeRoy Hanson [sic], the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Hanson, died at the Lake City hospital Thursday evening, June 11, at ten o'clock, at the age of 31 years, 5 months and 22 days.
Raymond Hanson [sic] was born at Randall Dec. 19, 1904, and was baptized Feb. 19, 1906. He was confirmed Oct. 6, 1918, by Rev. G. O. Paulsrud. He graduated from the Randall High school in 1924 and attended Iowa State college at Ames. He spent his entire life in and around Randall, with the exception of a few years spent in Des Moines and Chicago.
He was married to Miss Myrtle Miller of Randall, at Chicago Jan. 1, 1931, by the Rev. Palas at the English Lutheran church. To this union one son was born. Besides his wife and little son, Joe, he leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Hanson, four sisters, Mrs. William Anderson of Patterson, Calif., Mr. Clarence Thompson of Des Moines, Mrs. Ray Anderson and Mrs. A. Paggett of Randall.
Raymond was painting an elevator tower at Lake City when a rope slipped from the scaffolding and he fell 85 feet to the ground. The accident happened at three o'clock in the afternoon. He was rushed to the hospital where he died at 10 o'clock that evening from internal injuries.
Funeral services were held Monday, at the home at 1:30 and at 2 o'clock at Elim church, conducted by Rev. G. O. Paulsrud. At the home Mrs. P. G. Pederson and Mrs. Clarence Larson sang, "Beautiful Garden of Prayer," and at the church the mixed quartet, Mrs. Pederson, Mrs. Larson, J. H. Brekken and S. M. Teigland sang "We Are Going Down the Valley One by One." Mrs. Pederson and Mrs. Larson then rendered "The Old Rugged Cross" and the men's quartet, J. H. Brekken, S. M. Teiglnd, Ole Sopeland and Theo. Hoversten sang "Asleep with Jesus." The pallbearers were Ernest Williams, Carl Johnson, Obie Hauge and Harvey, Reuben and Alvin Miller. A sum of money was given to missions in his memory, and the floral offerings were many and beautiful. Interment was made in the Mt. Olive cemetery.
