OBITUARY
KARI WILLIAMS
Mrs. Kari Williams was a daughter of Lars and Helga Markhus. She was born May 11, 1853, in Markhus, Aakrefjord, Norway, where she grew to womanhood and was married to Ole Williams. To this union five children were born: Lars, Willie, Helga, Anna and Jori, the latter dying in infancy while they lived in Norway.
Together with her husband and four children she came to America in 1893. The first six years were lived in Ellsworth and 24 years near Randall, where she was a member of Elim Lutheran church
In 1920 she moved to Kenyon, Minn., where she lived until six years ago, when she and her son Lars moved to Huxley, where they bought a home. They lived here for a couple of years and then moved to a farm near Kenyon, Minn. A year ago in October they returned to Huxley where she lived until her death on Jan. 10, about noon. She reached an age of 82 years, 7 months and 29 days.
She was a sufferer of cancer of the stomach, and was nearly blind for many years, and was totally blind for three years.
She is survived by her son Lars, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Bertha Williams of Huxley; one sister, Mrs. Helga Rafdal in Norway, and five grandchildren, Mrs. Orrie Tweedt and Ernest Williams of Randall, Mrs. Jerome Hill, Walter and Luther Williams of Huxley, and 7 great grandchildren. She had two nieces, Mrs. G. O. Eide of near Ankeny, Mrs. Alvin Lein of Valley Junction; two nephews, Austin Skromme of Kelley and Henry Aasheim of Roland, besides many other relatives. Her daughter, Helga, died near Ellsworth in 1895; her daughter Anna (Mrs. Paul Nockling) died in 1893 near Roland; her husband died in 1917 near Randall, and her son Willie died in 1921 near Kenyon, Minn.
