Nels Nelson Fardal was born in Sogn, Norway, April 30, 1860, and died at Story City Dec. 9, 1935, at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 19 days.

At the age of 9 he came to America and settled near Stanhope. He resided there for 50 years, until June, 1919, when he moved to Story City, where he lived until his death.

On March 10, 1892, he was united in marriage to Gunhilda Fardal. He is survived by his wife, five children and 11 grandchildren. One son, Harvey, died at Story City in January, 1920.

The surviving children are: Inga (Mrs. Andrew Enderson), and Elmer H. of Stanhope; Guy of Des Moines, Nora (Mrs. Arvie Jacobson), and Emma of Story City.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 12, at the home and at the Immanuel church, Rev. T. T. Heimarck officiating. Interment was made in the Lake Center cemetery. The pall bearers Ole Hougland, Ole Brekke, John Sunnoe, John Hove, Erick Hove and Chas. Hove.
