OBITUARY OF LOTTIE OLSON-HUSBY

Lottie Olson, daughter of Ole and Maren Olson, was born at Grinnell, Iowa, May 15, 1868, and died Nov. 1, 1935, at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 16 days.

At the age of nine years she moved with her widowed mother to the farm home near Stanhope, where she lived for a number of years, then with her mother moved to Sioux City.

It was while she was in Sioux City that she met and married Martin Husby, their marriage occurring May 13, 1893. They lived in Sioux City until in the spring of 1902 when they moved back to the Olson homestead, where her home has been since. Her husband died Dec. 17, 1920, and to her was left the responsibility of keeping the family together on the farm, a responsibility that she met ably.

She leaves to mourn her passing her two daughters, Olga (Mrs. L. H. Anderson) of Blue Earth, Minn. and Mildred (Mrs. Emil Twedt) of Walters, Minn., one son, Lloyd of Stanhope; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, O. E. Olson of Jewell, Dan Olson of Inglewood, Cal. and Eli Olson of Story City; one sister, Mrs. Chris Solberg of Humboldt; a number of other relatives and host of friends.

Mrs. Husby was baptized and confirmed in the faith of the Lutheran church and was a faithful member of and worker in St. Paul's Lutheran church. In her memory the sum of $20.75 was given to missions by relatives and friends.

Her death occurred at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Emil Twedt at Walters, Minn., where she had gone recently to help in the home while her daughter was a patient at a hospital in Albert Lea for a major operation.

The funeral was held Nov. 5, at the home at 12:30 followed by the service at St. Paul's Lutheran church. The pastor, Rev. Hans Oppedal officiated, speaking from the the text Hebrews 4:1. At the service at the home a duet was sung by Mrs. Benj. Anderson and Theo. Quam, who also sang two duets at the service in the church. Those serving as pall bearers were: Marvin and Julian Anderson, Elmer and Lawrence Solberg, Lester Doolittle and T. M. Holm.
