OBITUARY
Rev. Henry Ingebritson
The Rev. Henry Ingebritson, 85, retired Synod Lutheran preacher, died Saturday, March 17 at his home in Lake Mills. He had been ill for the past month. He retired from active pastorate duties in 1944. His life as a pastor began in 1906 when he was installed at Fir, Washington.
He served as pastor of Lime Creek and Lake Mills Synod Lutheran Churches for 35 years before his retirement. In recognition of his service to the church and the congregations, the Rev. Mr. Ingebritson was honored at a reception in October of last year. Tribute was paid Pastor Ingebritson at that time and a gift presented to him. The day also noted the 50th anniversary of his installation in the local churches.
Besides the local congregations, Pastor Ingebritson had served churches in Shelby and Fowler, Mont., and Gaylord, N. Dak. He was graduated from Luther College, Decorah in 1903 and Luther Theological Seminary, St. Paul, in 1906.
He was born Oct. 29, 1876, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Haakon Ingebritson who resided in the Story City area. He was baptized at North St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City, where he attended the nearby schools.
He was married in 1907 to Ella Thompson who preceded him in death. They had three sons, Alv of Aberdeen, S. Dak.; Walter of San Francisco, Calif.; and Joel of Seattle, Wash., who survive him. Pastor Ingebritson is also survived by his wife, Inger Honsey Ingebritson; two sisters, Ida and Laura Ingebritson of Minneapolis; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Pastor Ingebritson were held Wednesday, March 21 from the Lime Creek Church, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. Paul Anderson conducted the rites.
