March 1, 2023Gwen Farnham, 89, of Webster City died Monday, February 27, 2023 at Van Diest Medical Center. A memorial service will be held later this spring. Foster Funeral and Cremation is entrusted with caring for the family.
Gwendolyn Ruth Klaver, daughter of Ben H. and Katharyn O. (McDonald) Klaver, was born October 21, 1933 near Kamrar. The family moved to Blairsburg, where Gwen attended school, graduating in 1951. On January 6, 1952, she was united in marriage to James C. Foell. The couple lived in Storm Lake until James finished college, before returning to Webster City in 1953. To this union two children were born, Karen and Kevin. James passed away in 1962.
On November 19, 1965, Gwen was married to K.G. “Jerry” Farnham in St. Paul, MN. Jerry passed away on February 14, 2015. Gwen worked for many years during tax season for various accountants in Webster City. She enjoyed bowling, crafting, coffee with friends, and caring for her garden with her family. Gwen was a member of the local Red Hats Society. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen “KC” (Michael) Constant and son, Kevin Foell both of Webster City; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mitch) Ewart of Redmond, WA, Heather (Rory) Lasansky of Iowa City, IA, Luke (Amy) Johnson of Ames, IA; great-grandchildren, Lila Lasansky, Landon and Leo Johnson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jerilynn Klaver, Janice (Richard) Noss, Ron (Marianne) Foell, Bob Foell, Donna Johanns and many nieces and nephews.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Farnham; brother, Gary Klaver; grandson, Nick Foell and brother-in-law, Don Farnham.
