Friday, April 16, 1999Marjorie Eide, 77, died Saturday, April 10, 1999 at the Hospice of Metro Denver Care Center in Aurora, CO. Graveside services were held April 16 at the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Lakewood, CO.
Marjorie Black was born Dec. 14, 1921 at Webster City, the daughter of Herb and Bessie Black. She graduated from Webster City High School and had worked for the Fred Hahne Printing Company and the Webster City Daily Freeman-Journal before her marriage in 1961 to Robert A. Eide, who was the city editor at the time.
The Eides moved to Omaha following their marriage and also lived in West Des Moines before moving to Aurora, CO. in 1978. While living in Des Moines, she was an advertising sales representative for the Des Moines Register and Tribune.
She is survived by her husband, a son, James R. Dunlap of Aurora, CO., three daughters, Susan Khair, Aurora, Janice Holman, Edina, MN., and Carolynn McDonnell, Denver, CO., 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, sisters Mayabelle Floyd of West Des Moines, Mildred Pringle of Webster City, and Marian Newcomb of Eagle Grove; brothers, Francis Black of Hagerstown, IN., Harvey Black of Clarion and Richard Black of Phoenix, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marcella Bige.
