Nicholas Monson died last Saturday, April 25th, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Monson in Stanhope, following a sickness of about two years of tuberculosis. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock from Zion Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. Martin Norstad, of Jewell, interment being made at Zion cemetery.
Nicholas Monson was born in Iowa July 25th, 1883 and was 30 years, and 9 months of age. In 1908 he was married to Miss Caroline Holt, of Wisconsin, the ceremony taking place in Oregon, where they resided for four years. In 1912 he moved to Phoenix, Ariz., for the benefit of his health, but after five months there returned to Stanhope and remained at the home of his parents until his death.
He is survived by his wife and four children; his father and mother, and four sisters, Mrs. S.T. Wing, of Stanhope, Mrs. C.K. Brandrup, of Blairsburg, Mrs. I.L. Berven of Stanhope and Miss Tillie Monson of Stanhope. The bereaved family have the heart-felt sympathy of hosts of friends in their sad bereavement.
