Friday, April 16, 1999Robert Ford, 65, Eldora, a former Webster City resident died Wednesday, April 14, 1999 at his home in Eldora. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the Foster Funeral Home with Brenda Christensen officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Sunday at the Foster Funeral Home and prior to the services on Monday. Military rites at the graveside will be conducted by American Legion Post #191, Webster City.
Robert Jay Ford, son of Perry Louis and Hazel Elsie Farnham Ford, was born January 28, 1934 in Lehigh. He attended school in the Lehigh area. He joined the U.S. Air Force and resided in South Dakota, then moved to the Webster City area in the mid 1960's. He was a resident of Webster City most of his life and had lived in Eldora for the past year. He had been disabled since 1995. On Dec. 19, he married Marjorie Punke at Marengo.
Survivors are his wife, two daughters, Rhonda Schwandt, Eldora, Brenda Miller of Des Moines, seven step-daughters, Susan Wessels of California, Tami Osten of Cedar Rapids, Joy Slater of Florida, Carrie Dunbar of Clare, Donna Miller of Fort Dodge, Mary Miller of Waterloo and Mart Miller; five step-sons, Loren Cope, Millersburg, Herman Cope, Clarion, Allen Miller, Eagle Grove, Clinton and Brian Miller, both of Parkersburg, and three adopted sons, Roger, Donald and Chris Ford, all of Webster City, and one adopted daughter, Nancy Ford; three brothers, Donald Ford of Eagle Grove, David Ford of Ohio, Tom Ford, Woolstock, one sister, Gertrude Bailey of Eldora.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Martha Elliott, brother Perry Ford, and two sons, Randy and Bobby, and one step-son, Alan Waddell.
