Mrs. Catherin Bettinger was born in Germany. She came to this country in 1879. The family located in Stephenson county, Illinois, where they lived for ten years. They came from there to Grundy county and located on a farm in Colfax township. Mrs. Bettinger's husband died in 1892. In late years she has been making her home with her son, John. Mrs. Bettinger has eight surviving children.
