Mrs. Lillian Shupe Jamison, 79, of 2929 Madison Ave., died in Burlington Medical Center at 1:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9. The daughter of William and Mary Leora Brooks Carter, she was born Nov. 30, 1896, in Louisa county. She married Archie Shupe in Burlington in 1915; he died Aug. 9, 1944. In September, 1957, in Burlington, she married Fred Jamison; he died in January, 1963. She had taught at West Burlington and Oakville, and was a member of Grace United Methodist church, National Retired Teachers Assn., Eastern Star of Danville, and Evell club of Spurgeon United Methodist church of Santa Ana, Calif. Surviving: Three sons; Caryl, Elmhurst, Ill., Donald, Cedar Rapids, and Maynard, Burlington; brother, Rev. Orville Carter, Rochester, Minn.; two sisters, Sadie Swailes and Blanche Miller, both of Burlington; ten grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Funeral: 3 p.m. Wednesday, Lunning Chapel, Rev. Caryl Evans Shupe, 74, of Iowa City, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 1991, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Born Dec. 16, 1916, at Oakville, he was the son of Archie and Lillian Carter Shupe. He married Mary Johannes on Feb. 28, 1946, in Cedar Falls. He was an FBI agent for many years, retiring in 1977, and he served in the Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Iowa City; a son, William Shupe, Iowa City; and a brother, Maynard Shupe, Burlington. The graveside service for Mr. Shupe will be held at 11 am. Tuesday at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Ill. There will be no visitation.
