Memorial Service For:
Wallace William Clauson
November 16, 1922 - May 2, 1991
Highland Covenant Church
Bellevue, Washington
May 7, 1991
Wallace was born on a farm in Kiron, Iowa. He was Salutatorian of his high school class, and married Marilyn Malmquist, his high school sweetheart. After one year of college, Wallace entered the Navy in 1943. He then attended the University of Minnesota obtaining his BS in Electronic Engineering. Wallace farmed for one year before joining IBM in 1950.

Before retiring from IBM in 1984 he had many diverse responsibilities including helping the government of Iran automate their hydroelectric projects while living in Switzerland. His last assignment in Romsey, England involved developing products for new data storage technologies.

Wallace had many personal interests; including roller skating, pool, all types of carpentry and woodworking, and gardening, especially roses.

Wallace's first commitment however, was to the Lord. He maintained a consistent life of integrity and service to God. He had a special love for missions and evangelism.

Wallace's second commitment was to his family. His love and care for Marilyn was an example to all. He was a thoughtful and loving father. Much of his free time was spent doing special projects for his children and grandchildren.

Wallace was many things: farm boy, international computer consultant, hard driving businessman, tender father, committed church member, consummate woodworker, strong willed, yet submissive to the work of the Holy Spirit in his life.

Wallace was an encouragement and example to all who knew him. His life was not only one of inspiration, but more importantly, one which constantly drew each of us closer to the Lord.

We know we will see him again soon!
