In search of biological father

I wad informed at age 14 in 1984, that my biological father's name is James Smith. My mother told me his mother's name was Norma and he had siblings named Jack Janet Jeannie and Janice. My mother's name is Marcia Ann Crook formally Hoover. Mr. James Smith met me when I was age 7 but I do not recall. Unfortunately my mother did not encourage a relationship with me to continue. Therefore I was not informed that I had a different father other than the man that married my mother before I was born named Andrew Crook. I located an obituary for Gene Smith in Marshalltown Iowa who passed away in 2011 naming all of the above family. As of the obituary it stated that James Smith was from Clinton Iowa. Which is where I was born and raised until age 14. My mother then moved our family to Washington State. I am now 49 years old and in search for my biological father so that I may learn more about my history to be able to share it with my children. I can be reached at geppertmail@gmail.com.
