In early 1850's two young sisters from from Ireland were married on the same day and set off for a new life in America with their new husbands. The first bride's maiden name was Catherine TAUGHER. Her husband was KILGALLON (or KILGALLEN) and they settled in Clinton Co.
Her sister, Mary Taugher, and Mary's new husband John ROGAN, settled in Baltimore. After just two or three years, and two children, John ROGAN died. Eventually Mary TAUGHER ROGAN took her two young girls and settled in Clinton with her sister's family. Around 1860, Mary TAUGHER ROGAN (1829-1901) met Irish immigrant Cornelius (Neil) GAHAGAN, and between 1861 and 1864 their first two children were born in Clinton Co. They then settled in Sauk Co., WI not long afterward.
I have located a cemetery record for a Margaret KilGallon in "St. Mary's" in Clinton Co. on 8-20-1882. Is St. Mary's a town or a simply a church cemetery?
I would like to hear from anyone with a KilGallon connection to Clinton Co.
