Dick,
I oopsed and sent to the main page, so I'm going to write this again.
I know about his family before Clinton, Iowa. I was hoping to know something while they were in Clinton, and after when Barney left. I assume that they didn't die off because my great grandfather always told his boys about the time he went to live with them in Clinton, Iowa after his father died in 1900. His father would be Barney Christiansen.
This is what I have from the 1880 Census.
Borg Christianson, self, marr., male, w, 55, schleswig, works in saw mill, f & m- from schleswig.
Caroline Christianson, wife, marr., female, w, 45, schleswig, keeping house, f & m- from schleswig.
Augusta Christianson, dau, marr. (then what is her married name?), female, w, 23, Ohio, At home, f & m- from schleswig
Barney Christianson (my gggrandfather), son, (he is single here though it doesn't state m or s), male, w, 15, wisconsin, works in sawmill, f & m- Schleswig
(Here's a little note on Barney: I know what happens to him. He died in May 1900 from electrocution. In San Antonio, he became an electrician and was putting up the wires, the wires crossed wrong, and he passed away). I know what happens to this branch. I would love to know about the other Christiansens in Clinton, Iowa though.
Minnie Christianson, dau, s, female, w,6, missouri, at school.
Freddie Christianson, son, s, male, w, 5, missouri, at school.
Keep in mind, the name should actually be spelled CHRISTIANSEN. But I have seen it CHRISTIANSON also due to misspelling.
Thanks, so much Dick!
Renae
