Funeral services for Peter Miller Jr., 84, were held at St. Joseph's church, Elkader, Saturday morning at 10:00 o'clock. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. B. H. Skahill officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Mr. Miller died at his home here Thursday, August 02. Death was due to infirmities of old age.

Peter Miller was born in Boardman township in 1867, the son of Peter and Josephine Willmes Miller. He attended the rural school near his home. He was married to Anna Losch at St. Joseph's church in Elkader in 1890. They farmed in Boardman township north of Elkader, until ten years ago when they moved to Elkader. They were the parents of five children, namely: Arthur M. Miller, Squaw Lake, Minn; Mrs. Eldo (Josephine) Meyer, Elkader; Dr. M. J. Miller, Ossian; Nicholas Miller, McGregor; Mrs. Herbert (Theresa) Masuen, Garnavillo. He was a member of St. Joseph's church, Elkader.

Surviving besides the above five named children are four brothers and one sister: Domonic, Philip, Mike, Nicholas, and Clara, all of Elkader. Also eleven grandchildren. His wife and two brothers, Joseph and John preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were: Lavern Meyer, Donald Meyer, Art Hoover, Henry Connors, Art Connors and John Miller.

Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Joe Funke, Mesella Funke, Mrs. Cliff Wallmark, Mrs. Catherine Limbeck, Ossian; Mabel Murray, Chicago, Ill.; Art Connors, Clermont; Henry Connors, Ossian; Mr. and Mrs. Don Meyer, Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Meyer, Keokuk.
