GARBER: Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Barnhart were held Friday afternoon from the St. John's church with the Rev. Meyer officiating. Interment was made in the Brown cemetery. Pallbearers were: James McLane, Realto Berns, Alfred Hall, Arthur Jennings, Frank Scheffert and John Schweikert.

Irma Catherine Barnhart, (nee Hansel), daughter of Alex and Agnes Hansel, was born June 11, 1881 in Clayton county near Colesburg. She grew up in this vicinity.

On November 21, 1900 she was united in marriage to Frank Barnhart. To this union two children were born. Later she became a member of the United Brethren church at Fairview. In the year 1927 she moved to Garber where she had since resided.

After two years of failing health and suffering she died December 16, 1941, at the age of 60 years, 6 months and 5 days. She leaves to mourn her death, her aged mother, Mrs. Agnes Hansel, one son, Gilbert Barnhart of St. Olaf, one daughter Mrs. Ben Amsden (Agnes) of Greeley, seven grandchildren, Mrs. Wilbur Boehm, Ruth, Dorothy, Catherine, Shirley and Joyce Amsden of Greeley, and Gilbert Dean Barnhart, Jr., of St. Olaf, two sisters, Mrs. Laura Oldham of Garber and Mrs. Maude Riegel of Owego, New York, besides a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, three brothers and a sister.
