Portwine - Holden marriage - 1951

Miss Lorena Helen Holden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Holden of Elkader and Donald Portwine, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Portwine of Strawberry Point, were married at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church in Elkader Saturday. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Attendants were Mrs. Lowell Maiers, sister of the bride, and Martin Jaster.

A wedding supper for the bridal party and relatives was held at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. Elgie Adams of Strawberry Point.

The new couple will live in Edgewood where the groom is employed by the Edgewood feed mill. Mrs. Portwine attended Elkader public schools. Her husband attended the Edgewood school.
