Kann - Schmelzer marriage - 1951

Miss Geraldine Schmelzer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schmelzer of Garnavillo, became the bride of Owen Kann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregor Kann, at St. Joseph's church, Jan. 31, with the Rev. L. C. Ickel officiating. The bride was attended by her sister Leonella, as maid of honor, and Angeline Schmelzer and Irene Schmelzer, cousins of the bride, as bridesmaids. The groom's attendant was Duane Kann, brother of the groom, and ushers were Bob Berns and Elmer Nieland.

The bride is a graduate of Garnavillo high school and the groom attended St. Mary's school in Guttenberg.
