STRAWBERRY POINT: Saturday, Jan. 20, Miss Vernita Nodurft, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nodurft of Strawberry Point, became the bride of Victor Pape, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Pape of West Union. The Rev. S. J. Meyer officiated at Emanuel Lutheran church here. Mrs. Kenneth Billhorn (Vonda Mae Nodurft) sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and Eileen and Phyllis Pape, sisters of the groom, were bridesmaids. Jim Pape, brother of the groom, served as best man, and groomsmen were Raymond Nodurft, brother of the bride, and Don Holstrum, friend of the couple. Jane Ann Sandhagen, friend of the bride, was flower girl, and David Pries, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.
Following the ceremony a reception for 300 guests was held in the church parlors, Where Mrs. Raymond Nodurft, sister-in-law of the bride, was in charge of the guest book.
After Feb. 08, the new couple will be at home on a farm near West Union.
The bride is a graduate of Strawberry Point high school, attended the American Institute of Commerce at Davenport and Upper Iowa university. She taught Sunday School for ten years, and in rural schools of Clayton and Fayette counties for six years. Also, in primary grades in Waucoma and Greeley for four years. The groom is a graduate of West Union high school and has been employed as a farmer.
