Evans - Freitag marriage - 1959

Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church was the setting, Oct. 25, for the wedding of Miss Karen Elaine Freitag and James R. Evans. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. William Freitag of Elkader and the groom is the son of Mrs. Audra Harris of Elyria, Ohio. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. The bride was attended by her close friend, Miss Judi Wison. The groom was attended by Neil Freitag, brother of the bride. Ushers were Ivan Freitag and Maloy Zittergruen, cousins of the bride.

At the reception in the auditorium of the church, the wedding cake was cut by the bride's aunt and Godmother, Mrs. Herman Kruse, and coffee was poured by Mrs. Richard Cheeseman. The punch was served by Miss Marilyn Freitag. Serving the bride's table was Mrs. John Miehe and Mrs. Ivan Freitag. All are cousins of the bride.

After a brief honeymoon, the couple will leave for Elyria, where they plan to make their home.

The bride was graduated from Central Community high school and since has been employed in Cedar Rapids and Chula Vista, Calif. The groom attended high school in St. Albans, W. Va., and was recently discharged from Navy service at N.A.S. Miramar, San Diego, Calif.
