Ida L. Harrold, daughter of Edmond and Anna Marie Harrold, was born March 10, 1874 in Jackson county, Mo., and passed away November 11, 1956 at the Clarke county hospital, Osceola, Iowa, at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 1 day.
In 1893 she was united in marriage to Clinton H. Sampson and to this union four children were born. The children were Emil S., Everett, Tillie Edmond and Lillie Mae. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, husband, and three children, Everett, Tillie Edmond and Lillie Mae.
Most of her life was spent in Clarke county except for a period of two years after her husband’s death when she went to Oklahoma to care for her father and step-mother.
She united with the Weldon Christian church early in life and later affiliated with the Osceola Christian church. She has been a faithful Christian throughout her life. Her happiest moments were when she was working in the church and the last day of her life she attended Sunday school and church.
She is survived by one son, Emil S. Sampson and daughter-in-law, Mildred Sampson of Glendale, Calif; one sister, Mrs. Alma Neill of Kimball, Nebr., and five granddaughters, Mrs. Clair Kentner, Mrs. Marvin Blair, Mrs. Kenneth Hines, Mrs. Emmett Liggitt and Vesta Sampson. Also surviving are four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Warren Hile at Webster’s Funeral Home Wednesday, November 14 at two o’clock. Music was furnished by Emil Rinderspacher with Amy Ruth Harlan at the organ. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery.
