Helen Grawe, Native of Nashua, Buried at Waverly Last Week
Waverly Independent: Funeral services for Miss Helen Grawe were held Tuesday afternoon at the George J. Kaiser funeral home. Rev. Wm. O. Eckler, pastor of the Methodist church, was in charge. Burial was in Harlington cemetery. Miss Grawe died Sunday following an illness of about a year with carcinoma.
Miss Grawe, daughter of Joseph F. and Blanche (Waite) Grawe was born Jan. 26, 1889, at Nashua. She came to Waverly with her parents in 1899 and this was her home since.
After graduating from high school and college, she taught in the public schools of Waterloo and Sioux City, and was a teacher of home economics in Sioux City at the time she was taken ill last April.
Surviving are five sisters and three brothers: Avis and Adelaide Grawe, Waverly; Mrs. Geo. Simmons, Savage, Minn.; Mrs. J. B. Treloar, Fargo, N. D.; Marjorie Grawe, Minneapolis, Minn.; Carl F., Joseph P. and Harold Grawe, Waverly.
Her father, the late Joseph Grawe, for many years publisher of the Waverly Independent, was t one time publisher of the Nashua Post.
The deceased, was a niece of Miss Lora Waite of Bradford, and cousin of D. B. Grawe of Nashua.
