Funeral services for Herman Eserhaut, 80, Tipton, were held June 24, 1989 at First United Church of Christ, Tipton, with the Rev. Robert Molsberry officiating. The organist was Betty Trevathan and pallbearers were Kevin Morris, Bob Whitlatch, Joe Coiner, Andy Anderson, Keith Phelps and Billy Salyars. Lyle Barkalow was honorary pallbearer. Burial was in Inland cemetery, Bennett.

Mr. Eserhaut died June 22 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, following an extended illness.

The son of Henry and Anna Dau Eserhaut, he was born Aug. 5, 1908 near Tipton. He attended the rural Cedar county schools and married Caroline Tollefsrud in October 1936 in Davenport.

Mr. Eserhaut was a farmer and a retired factory worker. He was a lifetime resident of the Tipton area.

He is survived by a son, Raymond, Tipton; 2 grandchildren and 2 sisters, Lucy Scheeper, DeWitt and Freida Scheeper, Clinton. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
