Funeral services for Hattie E. Duffe, 92, Wilton, were held June 26, 1989 at Lacock Funeral Home in Wilton. The organist was Deb Mohr and pallbearers were Tom Grings, Ted Taylor, Louis Cooling, Keith Schulte, Kenneth Marolf, Harrold "Skip" Bernet and Ralph Burge. Burial was in Oakdale cemetery in Wilton.

Mrs. Duffe died June 22 at Muscatine General hospital.

The daughter of Thomas and Etta Gard Tuttle, she was born March 7, 1897 in Pennsylvania. She married Walter R. Duffe Dec. 16, 1914 and he died in 1962.

Mrs. Duffe was the oldest member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Wilton, and also had the longest membership. Her hobbies included baking and gardening.

She is survived by a son, Lawrence "Shorty" Duffe, Wilton; a sister, Margaret Bernet, Anamosa, 5 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, 3 sisters and a brother.
