Funeral services for Adelia Schlapkohl, 95, Durant, were held June 26, 1989 at the Lacock Funeral Home in Durant, with the Rev. Peter Fickels officiating. Pallbearers were Gerald Schlapkohl, Larry Schlapkohl, Steve Rock, Gary Duffe, Dr. Michael Schreck and David Mack. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mrs. Schlapkohl died June 24 at the Wilton Nursing Home.

The daughter of Jockim Herring and Carolin Kistenmacher, she was born Sept. 27, 1893 in Stockton. She married Otto Schlapkohl March 1, 1916 in Davenport. She like to play cards, read, sew and perform handiwork.

Mrs. Schlapkohl is survived by a son, Lester, Durant and 3 daughters, Mrs. Marlin (LuVerna) Schreck, Durant; Mrs. Eldon (Dorothy) Paulsen and Mildred Schlapkohl, Riverside, Ill.; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, 5 brothers, a sister and a grandson.
